Which has nothing to do with Easter.
I just thought you should know that.
Thank you, and good night.
Wouldn't that be nice? If I just stopped there? But you know me, I can't. I have to go at least a page long, and bore you out of your mind.
Anyhoo, speaking of Easter, I've happened across a disturbing Easter decorating trend lately.
It's disturbing in 2 ways.
#1 the decorative object itself
and
#2 the fact that people aren't horrified
They think it's cute.
Oh yes.
Cute.
I've been to a couple decorating blogs and seen it, therefore I can qualify it as a trend.
Maybe you've seen it at Pier 1 and been horrified yourself, but never brought it to anyone's attention.
Well, that's why I am here.
To enlighten you.
But, of course, you already knew that, that is why you come to me.
What is it?
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you,
"Skewered Moss Bunny"
"GASP!"
I realize I probably just lost my "G" rating.
What are horror movies rated nowadays? "PG"?
But I hope you understand that this had to be brought to light.
There are way too many women (probably more than the 3 I've seen) using skewered bunny in arrangments, plants, and sticking out of teacups.
Are these women in a decorating trance??
"Must...put...bunny kabob...on...Easter table."
Keep it on the down low, but I think there is an anti-animal movement spreading.
Now I'm not animal activist by any stretch of the imagination.
I don't like hunting, but if you like to hunt, have at it.
Just don't kill it, put it on a stick and try to sell it to me as a decorative object for my house.
It's not going to work with me.
I'm not going to say, "Oooh, pretty!" and pop it into the closest vase for display.
You know what skewered bunnies lead to?
Bunny lamps,

Why, this poor bunny was looking for the bathroom when someone stunned him, shellacked him, and made him into a lamp.
Yes, I am insinuating that he is still alive.
It's not just bunnies either.
In my travels to the innermost parts of Goodwill, I've seen things like this,

Which I'm okay with, but I'd never admit to you.
Not a fan of cats.
Wouldn't carve the back out of one, and pop a plant in, but if you wanted to...
I joke, I joke.
How about this?

You've probably seen this at Christmas and never gave it a second thought.
"Oh look, a deer with a built in candle holder in it's back. It was probably born like that." then you go about your day.
HELLO!?
YOU are in a trance!
Snap out of it!
This is bad, and wrong, and no way to decorate.
Let's just get back to basics, shall we?
The only thing that should be on a stick, is this,

Okay?
Let's just keep things straight,
and not blur the lines between horrifying and normal.
I joke. I joke.

"I was visiting Carrot Jello and she has all these skewered bunnies all over her house! And a cat with this huge green growth coming out of its back, that just sat there and stared at me..."
You're right, this is no way to celebrate Easter.
Love the bunny lamp.
The bunny lamp DOES remind me of some children in my primary class...minus the lamp part. And I'm sorry, but the last picture shouldn't be on a stick either.
Just say no to skewers!
What IS that food mass on that stick?!
I'm with Lauren. What is it??
Poor, poor bunnies.
Poor, poor whatever it is under all those fries. Eeeeeee Gads!

When the princess falls from her throne.
Mmmmm....fried food on a stick. Heaven.
Love the background. Does it come in fabric? I need some new kitchen curtains and a matching apron.
WV= gente
Only partially a gentleman. "When the princess fell from her throne, the gente laughed, then helped her up."
My mom and I were at TJ Max last year; and while perusing their housewares section I found a tissue dispenser that was in the form of a cat. The dispensing hole was in the back...under the tail area. We almost fell over laughing. Mom bought it for her nurse friend who works in ENDO at the hospital. I believe it is there at the counter now.
I just searched google images trying to find a picture of this product, but to no avail. You'll just have to imagine it...
This post brought back that memory. Thank you for bringing this new form/old form of cruelty to animals to the attention of all.
The bunny lamp is TOO CUTE.
Happy Easter.
For some reason, we don't like decorating with Moss at all...unless it is pictures of Moss children. ;o)
I do like Cats, but not bunnies with anything shoved up their....
Those bunnies are really REALLY wrong.
This made me bust out laughing! :D
I'm STILL laughing! :D
