Domo arigato, Brother Roboto

Scene:
Me, sitting in church with my 4 year old son on my lap.
Four year old peers at the old man in front of us and sees something like this:

and says,
"That man has a battery in his ear!"
He looks again, and says,
"He's a robot!"

They're infiltrating us.
Yes, even at church.
Be careful.
I recommend getting a four year old to detect them.
They're very good at it.
Very good.

First!!
I really had a good laugh at this! Little kids are so good at saying things like this...

that's awesome.
I actually live in fear of my kids saying stuff like that, too loud. But I guess detecting robots is really handy.

4 yr olds are the BEST at those little discoveries!

At least it was a "battery" and not earwax. I can imagine that comment might not have been quite as funny!

I miss the cake background!

Ha ha, that Styx song combined with the Christopher Walken video for "Weapon of Choice" might make for a good senior citizen robot feel. :)

did the robot hear him? because then you might be in trouble?

last week during the sacrament i was having a quiet discussion with my two year old about why we take the sacrament and how much Jesus loves us when he stopped me and said, Jesus is right there! and i said what? and he pointed to the bearded man behind us. and said, THAT'S JESUS! aaaah, how embarrassing. and i had to set him straight right in front of everyone and tell him that Jesus was, in act, up in heaven. but he was insistent and said, WHO IS THAT, THEN? and i said Brother Hall..NO, it's JESUS!

Next sunday you can bring a metal detector to church and show him how the "robot" has skin like us but underneath he has metal hips, knees, shoulders, dental implants, pacemaker... Astute observations #4, there is a job somewhere in the galaxy for you as a droid hunter.

I know of at least one robot in our ward.
They are pretty subtle those robots.

Tonight we watched "Men in black"
Apparently robots ARE everywhere.

I always wonder about this when I see people with their wireless headset cell phones attached to their head. It reminds me of the Borg from Star Trek.

One day I fully expect myself or my husband to be a robot.

that was really funny

I bet like most people trying to catch a mini Sacrament cat nap, the man had his hearing aid turned off and didn't catch the comment. :)

I just had this weird thought. If a audiologist hearing aid tester person was a closeted pervert would they test your hearing aid function by breathing heavily and saying profane things in your ear and then adjusting it accordingly?

THAT LITTLE GUY IS WISE BEYOND HIS YEARS!!!
Who else would have made that observation?
I could freak him out by popping out my dentures....

AHHHHHHHH! My grandparents are in on it!

I could tell immediately that the old man in the picture was actually a robot.

REAL old men have bristly hair sticking out of their ears.
