Don't you hate it when it's 3:30 a.m., and you're wide awake singing "Rock The Boat" in your head? I hate it when that happens. Am I to take it as a message from on high when that happens? Should I be rocking some boat somewhere? Who's boat is it, and why must I do it so early in the morning? Funny thing, when I wake up this early, I always feel sick to my stomach. So, not only am supposed to rock the boat, I am going to feel seasick too. I hear it raining outside right now. Maybe I am to be the female Noah. Perhaps I am supposed to be running around gathering animals as we speak. Yeah, sorry, not going to do it. I'm more like Jonah. Don't make me run around building boats, rocking them, and gathering animals. I'm just not going to do it. Especially this early in the a.m.

Hope you were able to get back to sleep. (or to GET to sleep . . . depending on the scenario) Oh! and boat-rocking/building/gathering animals 2x2 is best left to the daylight hours . . . when there's no rain.

Kate, why are you up so early? Of course, now it's 5:03. Not so early, but I'm still singing the song

So, did you get any sleep yet?
I'm jealous about the rain. We get these thunderstorms in the afternoon, but no rain. It's muggy. My 6 year old has been praying for rain, and doesn't understand why her prayers haven't been answered yet.

Yes, sister. You are right on. I know exactly what of you speak.

Although I'm fairly decent about rocking the boat (to a fault), I feel that sick feeling right now because it was well after 1:30 before I went to bed but I still woke up at quarter to sick.

If only rocking the boat was sleep inducing.

I think I'll take a nap before going to work this morning.

I hope there's a nap in your future! I got woken up by two cats running up and down the halls this morning. Argh. Night before last I had a dream about being strangled. I was so freaked out I waited until it was light to back to sleep. Not sure I want to know what that one means.

Sorry no sleepy at 3:30 in the morning. I hope you get a nap today!

Seasick while rocking the boat, now that doesn't sound fun at all!

I'm always up at that time Carrot . . . 445 is when my husband shoves me out of bed each morning . . . well not really . . . but still! LOL
Have a good rest-filled day!

I love that you couldn't sleep so you got up and blogged. When you said the song "Rock the Boat" I thought of "Sit Down You're Rockin the Boat" from Guys and Dolls... then your lovely music started... :)

Our love is like a ship on the ocean...

Holy crap, of all the annoying songs to get stuck in your head. I feel for you.

Hey, there's a new song! "I feel for you!" Chaka Khan... Chaka Khan... Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan...

The Skipper at 3:30 AM doesn't strike me as strange. That's when all the Gilligan's Island reruns are on. I TiVo them so I know this.

This song reminds me of my husband as a kid...not that I knew him then, but I've seen pictures, what a cutie!...this was his favorite song, well tied with "Fly Robin Fly" which he thought was a homage to the Caped Crusader's sidekick.

Not that that has anything to do with you...sorry.

Oh...I do hope you get a nap today!

i was glad to read that someone else tries to interpret the reason songs are stuck in their head. the meaning of it and why. to a point. i'm not sure if that's what you were implying but seriously, everytime a song is stuck in my head, i trace it back and there is always a reason why it's there.

Which Rock The Boat version? The Hughes Corporation or the late Aaliyah's?

I just discussed Rock The Boat with my kids a few days ago as I remembered being about 4 during a nighttime parent/teacher conference and I sat alone in another room in a little wooden rowboat rocker, rocking and singing that song.

I was adorable. Even back then.

Rocking the boat is better than sinking it.
If I couldn't sleep and got up in the middle of the night to blog about it my husband would find me there all droopy eyed in front of the computer in the morning, drooling, but not sleeping.

I don't mean to rock the boat, but
I don't like 3:30AM

Dropping by again to tell you your iming skillz and speed would impress any teenager. Thanks for the crash course (were you so proud of me when I dropped the "g2g?")!

Hope you had a better night. (I slept in until 4:44!)

Cheers--

Do you have that song on your playlist? I get a lot of those songs on your playlist stuck in my head--thank you for that! ;-D

Elizabeth, I finally got a nap this afternoon.
Sodak, yes, it is.
Compulsive, A quarter to sick eh?
Rugs, Scary! I wouldn't go back to sleep either.
Amanda, I finally got a nap, a day later
Kate, Ugh!
Melissa, Yeah, it wasn't working so I changed playlists.
Millie, I will try singing Chaka when I wake up next time.
Sketchy, take over why don't you?
Kimberly, well, I got one today, which was not the today you were talking about. That's bad grammar.
Aubrey, That's exactly what I do. I've had rock the boat on my mind since I started counseling :/
Elastic, sounds lonely.
Heff, Yes. Definately.
PJ, Me either!
Nuts, I was just trying to impress you. Did it work?
Karen, I did, but it quit working. Sorry for putting songs in your head. maybe.
