Because I'm creative like that.
It was a guessing game.
I called it, "Dish cloth, Wash cloth, or...other?"
The idea came to me when I went to wash some pots and pans yesterday, glanced down and saw a perfectly white wash cloth sitting at the bottom of the sink.
So I gathered rags, dish cloths, wash cloths, and dish towels and put them in a basket.
Then I had my children sit in front of me while, one by one, I held up a cloth.
They had to guess- dish cloth, wash cloth, or other.
My, it was fun!
I'm thinking this game could have many versions.
"Toilet brush, toothbrush, potato scrubber, or pot scrubber?"*
"Soup spoon, Teaspoon or outdoor shovel?"
"Refrigerate, or not?"
Just last week, while cleaning out the pantry/mud room, I played the game called, "Somebody died in here, and I've got to find the body."
I found a open box of chicken broth (with the lid closed).
Apparently, if it's in a box, it goes on the shelf.
Who knew?
My kids, that's who.
Yes, it's all fun and games around here.
Jealous much?
*For the record, we haven't had to deal with that one...yet.

I invented "Credit Card Go Fish" while waiting for the tires to be rotated, which I always thought was crazy because tires rotate themselves, don't they?
I think going to work would be easier than teaching little people everything they need to know to survive as a purposeful adult. At least that only lasts 8-12 hours a day.
We NEED to play this game at my house!
There's always "Clean Underwear or Dirty Underwear." and "This is __________-How do we use it?" (You have to insert items in the blank, such as deodorant, a comb, etc.)
I am so jealous! How are you so creative and stuff?
My family has NEVER (NEVER) understood the difference between a dish cloth and a hand towel. Oh and I have tried Carrot, I have tried many times.
Carrot > SHG
Very.
My son likes to play "tie the coaxial cable around the bottom of the stairs and watch big sister trip and fall when she comes down for breakfast in the morning". Aren't homemade games the best?
I think I'm glad I can't go to my kids apartments or houses--I'd probably find dishcloths being used as washcloths--I don't think I did a very good job as a mom ; )
We had to play the "What died in the car?" game one time ; )
YOU...are a freaking genius.
ps. word verification didn't like my first attempt, so it gave me the word: TUBBA
Yeah, I can relate with that.
love that game, my kids know that the washcloths that have characters on them, (the ones from the dollar store that start out as small little blocks) are for bathing.
Now I know what I'm doing for the next FHE.
So, if you close comments on one post, there is a way around it.
I know all about cooties--I obviously have them. People are willing to stop by the blog, but rarely comment anymore--C'est la vie ; )
VERY, VERY CUTE KIDS. But, seriously, would have never expected anything but cute ones with such a cute mama.
Hilaaaarious!!!
