Quotes from my children this week:
"You make the best dinners!"
"You make the best potatoes ever! You need to hand down that recipe to us."
"The house look so nice. You did such a good job cleaning!"
Don't be jealous. It all came with my "Best Mom In The Universe" crown.
Not only can I cook, and clean, but I can make book covers too. Oh yes, I can make a math book go from this...

to this...

with a little bit of wrapping paper, and contact paper. To be fair, Brynn typed out the "Brynn's Math Book!" part.
Of course, you can't be talented at everything. That's why my pictures turn out so bad. It probably makes you feel better though. You were probably saying to yourself, "She can do everythin...oh wait, she can't take pictures! Ha!" Well, I'll give you that.

I wouldn't expect anything less than perfection from a Domestic Diva!

I wouldn't expect anything less than perfection from...oh wait. Glittersmama already said it.
You are so talented.
And special.
I wish I was special.

You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
I wish I was special
You're so very special

But I'm a creep,
I'm a weirdo...

Good thing you blogged it. That way if you ever trip and your crown falls off you will have the evidence to remind them how wonderful you really are.

I buy those lame-o stretchy book covers. Yours are way more cool.

Go Mom!

Yay for being a cool Mom! :) Definitely moments to treasure!
Oh! And can I say, I LOVE that you have the Swingle Singers on your playlist . . . I seriously was beginning to think I was the only one who'd ever heard of them!

A Goddess is what you are.
No, it's true.

Should my kids' books have covers?

We're suppose to make bookcovers? Oh, you put me to shame Carrot.

Thanks for giving us something to aspire to someday!

We had to make a cover for it because they're brand new math books.

I love that paper. Lucky girls. Fun mom.

I was beginning to worry about you b/c I haven't seen the last couple posts--don't ask me why because it is a computer issue, not an operator issue.
Anyway, I'm glad to know all is well. Book covers are super-cute. And so was the NE thingy :) She's famous!!

Annie's melting face profile picture says,
"I love covered text books."

I didn't think it was possible to make a math book look good but you did it.

That NE article is great, very inspiring...way to go, kid!

Not only can you cook and clean you've raised grateful children who appreciate what their Mama does for them. You are a Goddess.

WHAT NO TUTORIAL?

although.. if I put bookcovers on, when end of the year comes 'round it might be harder to find where they got stashed.

If you're good at covering books, does that make you a 'Bookie?'

Whenever I want to hear my children cry with delight and sings the praises of my superior motherhood, I tell them they can have an extra 15 minutes on the computer.

Hey, your blog ate my comment to make me look bad.

Is this another test?

So when do you get your own TV show?

As a kid, I could never make those book covers out of the paper the school gave us. Now when the kids say they need one, I pull out a stretchy one from my stash. Not only are they not homemade, they are sometimes used!

You rule!

carrot, you look so cute in that picture serving your family ranch style beans. Have you ever noticed the can used to say "husband pleasin" and now it says "family pleasin". Also it had a cute husband with dark eyebrows. I think they were sued or something

My mom did that for me when I was little... but she only used paper sacks... except for one time... I begged for contact paper.

Wrapping paper... genius! Much prettier choices.

Very, very nice...what a mom:)

My mom didn't even know I had text books.

Very impressed with your book cover. We just used brown grocery sacks...and I can't take pictures...and I didn't get any compliments from my kids....hmmm. Maybe I need to learn some book covering skills.

Okay what is up with your blog? I even erased your bookmark and made a new one for you and it still shows the older sibling post as your most recent one. Are you trying to get me to stop reading your blog? Any ideas?

Carrot Jello said...

Hmmm, I have no idea. So, which post are you commenting on? The older sibling one? Because it's showing up on my book cover post. Does it show up when you hit refresh?

wow, I strive to be more like the all amazing carrot jello. Do you offer classes?

Super Happy Girl said...

I don't even know what my kids' school books look like.

Look away from me Carrot. I'm hideous.

b. said...

ncs, thanks...I thought I was the only one.

I don't cover my kids' books. You're much more of a domestic goddess than I am.

P.S. I told Brennan he was marrying Brynn. He said, "Is she pretty?" I told him about the pictures of her with balloons stuffed down her pants. Bella said, "She sounds like a goofball" and I said, "I know - they'll be perfect for each other." :)

Millie, Tell him to check her out in the September New Era pg. 39
She's the one holding the blue scriptures ;)

Nice cover. When you fill out your taxes next year, for the occupation line (that causes all of us stay at home moms to squirm), I think you should write "Best Mom of the Universe" because everyone but the IRS knows it, might as well make it legal.

I love those book covers! And...I want to try these potatoes :)

Natalie said...

MMmmmmmmmmmmm...potatoes!

My school books never looked that cool, good job!

Millie said...

Is she standing or kneeling?

Carrot Jello said...

standing
in black
with a white headband

wynne said...

Carrot, I think you need to give some tutorials. Not only for the book covers, but how to get those sorts of comments out of your children. Or, in my case, child. *sigh*

Tessa said...

You should come over and do that to my math book!!
