Before you leave...

on your trip to Texas,
(You were going to Texas, weren't you?)
I should tell you where to stay.
First, stay at Elastic's house.
That is, if she'll let you.
The bed is comfy, the food is delicious, the company is great, and who can resist having a personal chauffeur, and being complimented and adored by her children?
Oh yes, they adore me.
Don't ask them, just trust me.
Say you'd like to go to Texas, but you'd rather not die of heat stroke.
I suggest Texas hill country, just an hour past San Antonio.
"San Antonio? Isn't that where the Alamo is?"
I have no idea.
In fact, I'm not so sure the Alamo really exists.
I have been to Texas twice now, and have yet to see it.
Methinks the whole story is just an urban legend.
Anyhoo...
Elastic and I traveled to hill country to get away from the heat and humidity of the big city.
Big city 110 degrees vs. Hill country's 98 degrees and hot flow-y breezes.
See?
No contest.
I joke.
O.k., maybe only half joke.
If you're looking for hot, Texas is where it's at.
Or Arizona, so I've heard.
I've just never been invited.
Plus Texas has any kind of food buffet you could ever hope for.
Does Arizona have that?
I think not.
No offense to Arizona.
And how about rivers?
Does Arizona have a tree lined river that looks like this?

Clear, green, and beautiful?
It does?
Well, does it give you one of these to go tubing down that river with?

I didn't think so.
Now you're jealous, aren't you?
I thought so.
To be continued...

I've wondered the same thing about the Alamo.

Suspicious to say the least.

I saw a movie about The Alamo.

I hope you and Elastic are happy for many many years to come.

That wasn't really a bonafide "Pimptress" cup.....no, it was instead a cleverly disguised chalice offering tribute to the photography gods to blur my unsightly double chin, bad skin, and pendulous bosoms right out of the picture and it worked!!!!(sort of)

Gotta admit...that river and tree covering is very tempting.

You could write travel literature! Is that what you did before blogging?

Have fun in Texas!

Hey now. Why the hate on Arizona? Yeah we've got food and rivers and stuff and we've got places where it is 110 and 98 degrees at the same time, too. I think Texas is pretty cool, but they've got a lot of room to work with over there. Methinks you need to dust off your boots and bring your sun screen and come take a look at what makes Arizona The GRAND Canyon State. ;)

I just got back from a trip to San Antonio. I THOUGHT I visited the Alamo...maybe it was just a mirage...

You are so invited to Arizona!

But let me tell you, it is hot!

Not only do we have 110 degree days, the best mexican food, and rivers (which actually scare me)...

We also have fires, illegal aliens, and boycotts, you should check us out!

No seriously, it is not as bad as you think.

:D
