I assured him that the last monster died in the 1800's.
I mean, when is the last time you spotted one?
Have you EVER seen one?
I rest my case.
"Carrot, do you have evidence?"
Why yes, I do.
I stopped by the cemetery on the way home from the grocery store one afternoon (who doesn't?), and happened upon this...

No, I never knew monsters had first names either.
And sadly, this was below that...

Looks like baby Monster died first, and daddy Monster died a year later.
Probably from a broken heart.
Where mommy Monster is, I don't know.
So now you can assure your children there are no more monsters.
They're all up in Heaven.
Wait.
Don't tell them that, they might not want to go there.
You'll have to figure out what to tell them.
I can't do everything for you.

Was Baby the first name or did they just never name him/her in the three months he/she was alive?
Oh noes! :(
Dysentery, in the wagon with mac and cheese.
:(
And I thought taking 3 days to name my daughter was bad. But then again what was Jennifer Gray's name in Dirty Dancing???
Thank you for setting my mind at ease!
Thank you so much. I will be sure to pass along this information to my son tonight, as he worries one might be in the closet. LOL
I love that you stopped by the cemetery on the way home from the grocery store. You are my hero.
It makes me want to go to Ancestry.com and check out all the Monsters there. How did that get to be the name for, um, monsters? There's probably a story there.
wv = buritess - a girl burrito
Laughing my head off, even read this post to my hubby. You always crack me up.
I'll have to read this to my 4 year old, then maybe I won't have to shake monster mix (beans in a tin can with the lid super glued on) every night... I can always hope. :)
Haha...That was an awesome post!
Next up, can you do something about the fear of spiders crawling around our kids in the night?
still laughing over here...can you hear me? i love you and your sense of humor. you rock!
And in the casket rotting away is some bonafide Monster Mash!
We did the mash....we did the Monster Mash!
But only because the Monster Hash wasn't the daily breakfast special anymore over at the Transylvania Cemetery Diner.
Where was this info when my kids were little and scared of those monsters? Oh well. They lived. Had I known this I could also have told them that the monsters lived in north west and not our state! That might of allowed for a couple hours more sleep each night :D
It is very good news indeed that the monsters have been gone for so long. If I'd have known this when I was a kid I probably wouldn't have been so worried about what was under my bed.
