I know, he's darling.
You know what he's doing right now?
Sleeping.
You know where?
In his own bed.
Where's the bed?
Not in my room.
"Carrot, he's NINE months old and has been sleeping in your bed since he's been born??"
Er...yes.
But, he's so cute.
Well...he was so cute.
Until last night.
Last night he thrashed around, and woke up so many times,
I'd just about had it.
Just about.
Until I took him to the babysitter, and he promptly took a little nap for FIVE and a HALF hours!
Of all the nerve!
Then I'd had it.
No more sleeping with me.
He's outta my bed, and outta my room.
Until I hear him make a peep.
Then he might just have to sleep in my bed.
Don't want any babies making peeps without their mamas around.
That just might break my heart.
And, no, we don't make him sleep in the laundry basket.
That's what you get a ride around the house in when your sister is home from school, and she wants to play with you.
Wanna come over?
Can you fit in a laundry basket?
It might be fun.

We have had five babies and they all slept in our bed for about the first year or so. It was just easier that way.
Now that we are having #6 I am wishing for a King Sized bed. Somehow we have gotten bigger around while our bed stayed a queen and I am not sure how this one will fit!
He'll stay in his own bed until he's old/smart enough to climb out and then he'll be back in yours, oh yes he will, just wait and see!
Ugh, I could never get any sleep with my kids in my bed. They were all thrashers.
I would always go sleep in their beds when they came in, leaving The Brain to sleep with the little kickers.
Good Luck!
Um, tips please?
p.s. He's A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E
and I can't even be remotely unbias about. It's uncanny how much he looks like Danyo.
Yeah- what Nobody said. My 4 yr old is just now sleeping in another bed- with his big sister instead of with Sei and me. FOUR years old!!!
I always kicked 'em out of bed around a year:D
Yes, I want to come over
No, I would not fit in your laundry basket.
My babies get kicked out of my bed when they are about 2. By the time they are 10 years old they stop coming back.
We finally got a king size bed because some mornings we would have 4 or 5 of us in my bed!!
They do eventually grow up....don't they???
He IS adorable!! :D
Congrats on reclaming your bed.
I could probably fit in that basket. Will you let me use the pink blanket?
Do you watch Supper Nanny? she has good advice on sleeping in there own bed last night's episode was pretty good. I keep telling Lola that she needs to take a page out of nanny's book.
Do I wanna come over? Sure.
Can I fit in the laundry basket? Probably not.
Oh well.
With the first two, they slept in our bed until they were about 18 months old. The last straw came when they kept sticking their foot down the back of Daddy's pants and scratching his...er...bum when they were both asleep.
With #3 I had a sidecar thing. Best thing I ever got. She's still sleeping there in a toddler bed now, because her room became the catchall room when we moved in. It's getting worked on, more quickly now that she's 2 1/2!
no, i can't fit in the laundry basket... could i still have fun at your house without that qualification?
And what a grown up little guy... I think he got kicked out faster than the last one... and possibly the others before him?
They might leave your bed but the little buggers keep coming back until they. . . I don't know! I haven't hit that point yet!!
I would love to come to your house! The laundry basket it flexible isn't it? Do you have stairs? Now THAT'S FUN!!
He IS adorable!
And no, I don't think I could fit in a laundry basket... but I would try!!
Oh, he's so cute, I could eat him.
We had Roz in our bed for the first six months. Maybe it's just something with #5. You appreciate how short that "baby" time is. :)
I think my foot can fit in your laundry basket. Can I still come?
What a cute beby! Is he yours?
I've seen that laundry basket game played myself. Pretty cute!!!
-I know families where the kids never really go to their own bed. OMG
Our granddaughter that is almost 13, still sleeps with me when she visits and makes Poppa sleep in the guest room. Kids - what are you gonna do?
So cute. Youngest one here only stayed for 4 months. Then she wanted her cradle. Next to our bed. She wast eh best sleeper though. Went right to sleep when I put her in bed.
Joy just got the boot herself last month when potty training wasn't going so well. I can't believe I have my bed back to myself again! I don't know what to do with all the space now!
I'm slightly afraid to admit this here but.......
mine have never slept with me.
Maybe mine were afraid of me ; (
He is so cute.
Wow! You all must be better sleepers than I. I couldn't even sleep a wink with mine even close to my bed. Across the room in a bassinette(?) for the first month and then their own room in their crib for the first year and then a regular bed after that. Good thing they love sleeping so much!
Our oldest was in our bed for atleast a year and a half. After that she would start out in her bed but then end up in ours in the middle of the night! My baby is almost 9 months old and she is still in our bed. I suspect she will be there for awhile longer!
Oh, and yes, your baby is ADORABLE!!!
Awww, come on...that little darling could NEVER conspire against his momma with the babysitter! ;)
The rule around my house was the babies sleep with me until they are old enough to kick my husband in the face while sleeping. Then they have to go sleep in their own beds.
