We've had fresh spinach the last two nights for dinner. I had a little bit left tonight, so I thought I'd be fancy and cook it like the doctor on Oprah last week. I put the spinach in the pan, along with some fresh garlic and olive oil. My foremost thought was "I must not overcook this!" so, I took it out when I thought it was done. It didn't look that appetizing, but they kept saying how good it tasted. Mind you, I've never had canned spinach, cooked spinach, collard greens, wilted greens, or what have you. I shoveled some onto the fork and hesitantly plopped it in my mouth. *gag* Next time I get a hankering for something gooey, and old tasting, I'll rummage around the back of the fridge and find and expired bag of lettuce and snarf it. I kept thinking...this is one thing, I will never make my children eat. Just thinking about me eating it, makes me sick to my stomach.
