Title 9
Okay, so I couldn't think up a catchy title. I sent out invitations to my sons baptism, and actually got three responses already. All from the same family, and none of them can go, but at least they R.S.V.P.'d eh? So one response was from my cousin. I'll call her Kymberlee, because that's her name. She starts out by saying something like "I will be unable to come to the baptism Carrot." Uhhh...Carrot? Did she just call me Carrot? Apparently, she's been reading my blog, and NOT leaving responses. What's up with that? It got me thinking about people calling me carrot. It doesn't bother me one bit having cyber people call me carrot. Heck, even when cyber people have called me on the phone (which is rare *wink wink*) and they call me carrot, I don't even blink an eye. No one really calls me carrotjello, unless they are meeting me for the first time. A while back, my sister thought she'd join the same messageboard as I had. She immediately started calling me Carrot. I wasn't sure if she was mocking me, or just doing what everyone else was doing. Would she do this at Thanksgiving? "Pass the beans, carrot", "You look lovely carrot", "You really are stunning carrot". I've just never had people mock me in cyberspace about my name. Everyone- okay, almost everyone, has a weird username. It doesn't sound odd in your head. I met an online friend a couple years ago, and was trying to think what I should call her IRL when I met her the first time. I finally went with her real name. I just couldn't call her by her cyberspace name. It sounded weird out loud. It's like when you're talking to real life people about your cyber space life. They smile and give you a "you're crazy" sort of look. So you keep it all in your head, or on the screen. Have you ever talked to someone you met in cyberspace, on the phone? What did you call them? How about meeting them in real life? Would I call cuterthanspit, cuter? spit? cuterthan? or just her real name? Do you ever wonder? Do you ever wonder why your wondering? Do you ever wonder why you wonder why your wondering? I wonder.
