Two years ago, I made these...

Last year, I made these...
(Of course, they didn't eat them because they said they looked gross. That IS the point, no?)

This year, I made this...

And it's not edible.
She only wore it for an hour, and it took me about 4 1/2 hours to make it. *sob*

Are there any digits still attached in your home?

I can honestly say that I have never seen an iron costume in my entire life. You did an incredible job.

Awesome. Did your husband go as Spray Startch??

I don't know if I could eat the old man toes either, but the mummies are too cute!

Amazing!!!! You are too much!

only 4.5 hours? geez... it would take me that long to make the old lady fingers!

I'm so sorry she didn't wear it more than that. Just think when it comes time for a prom dress!

I LOVE those mummies! The fingers/toes...what's in them?

You are amazing to actually make that costume. I wasn't sure it was possible :) Way to go!

HA HA HA!!! Too clever! Are we related? I see a trend towards yearly escalation. Next year will you sew matching Sunday outfits for your whole family? Now that's scary.

I put a large, clear plastic garbage bag over Sam's body, filled it with small colored balloons, tied it around his neck, made a plastic tab for his neck and a clear balloon hat -- he was a bag of jelly beans. Took me 15 minutes, whew!

How on earth?!? I wish I could have been there last night. H thought it was funny.

Iron Chef. That's brilliant! Even if just for an hour.

Love the costume! I have made those fingers before - they look so great on a plate huh? Just came over from An Island Life and thought I would comment b/c the costume made me laugh :)

4.5 hours?? That's insanely amazing! It would take me twice that amount of time to just come up with the idea. You have so many skills... creative thinking skills, costume making skills, weird Halloween treat making skills... you're amazing! :)

I bet that was the most fantastic hour ever!

Impressive! :o) That was sweet of you to put so much work into your daughter's cool, very original costume.

That is so cool! Good job!

I should have known that I'd see an iron costume on your blog, Carrot! How cute and clever!

You can pat yourself on the back for a job well done, even though your daughter only wore it for an hour. Maybe she will wear it again next year or another child will wear it again eventually??? :)

I really had no idea how you were gonna do that iron, but my word it is awesome.

I'd have et those toes right up

That is amazing. I am sure it made you hungry to start ironing. I think you just made your house the official mascot. I can just see a child standing in front waving at cars as they drive by. People might start throwing laundry at you.

If someone told my iron daughter that she was hot and ask if she would press down on them.....I'd have to smack them silly.

Yeah. The potential perils of dressing your kid up like an iron.

Heffalump said...

Now me, I would have duct taped an iron to her hand and put a chef hat on her head...
But you are a better person. And when she is older you can always pull out the iron costume guilt card...

Millie said...

Heeeeeeeee... love Elastic's comment.

You are way creative, my dear. I take my hat off to you.

What an awesome iron! I looooove!

I forgot about the mummy doggers. Shoot. that would have been perfect for my preschool group!

Wow Wow Wow! I bought my kid some boots and a hat and tada--a cowgirl. No skill or talent over here, and I actually get the boots. :)
