I made the mistake of feeding her (or him, I know nothing about chickens)
So now it waits for me to feed it every day.
Today it followed me to the door when I got home.
I guess it loves cracked wheat cereal and granola bars.
That, or it's hard up for food.
I've never wanted to live on a farm.
I can barely stand having a cat, and now?
I have a chicken.
Lucky me.
"Carrot, that wasn't funny."
No, no, it wasn't.
I got nothing.
I tell you who does have something.
Penelope.
Have you seen her?
Well, you're going to.
In a minute.
I just bought a bunch of books, and I'm going to go read, and watch old movies 'til I can't stand it anymore.
After that, I'll be back.
I must say I highly recommend "The Barretts Of Wimpole Street", "It Happened On 5th Avenue", and "Tenth Avenue Angel" as well as 20 other ones I've watched the last couple weeks.
I can't seem to remove them from my DVR.
By the way, WHO invented that glorious thing??
I LOVE my DVR.
I just got one before Christmas.
It's fabulous.
Anyhoo, here you go...
Penelope

i was so hoping you'd post a picture. she's lovely. but i wish she were rich.
Well, think of it like food storage...chicken fattened on granola bars...mmmmm.
Ooooh, or maybe she will start laying eggs in your yard and you will have free eggs!
She's cute!
I've known a few Penelopes in my day. I'm facebook friends with a couple of them.
Oh, and "Bawk Bawk."
I thought you were kidding about the chicken. We just found out we have a red fox living under our garage--not that Red Fox, a red fox ; ) I guess we need to call animal control.
DVR's are great. Can't watch the video "only available in the U.S"--I'll just have to trust you. I can trust you...I know I can.
if you get too tired if her you could always BBQ her.
Well, now I can't come over.
Chickens frighten me!
Sorry.
We will have to be long distance friends.
Now I want to go watch a movie.
You have a cat? Get the video camrea out and introduce her to the chicken.
Got it?
Good.
No send it in to America's funniest home videos.
Or at the very least, upload it to your blog.
Penelope is FABULOUS!
Thanks for sharing!
I love penelope and old movies!
Love your chicken---cute Penelope--but she didn't make me laugh out loud.....
But then its hard to get me to do that....I'm a comedy snob.
Must be a hen. Roosters are mean. I have trauma from childhood cause we had mean roosters.
Can't say I ever had one follow me home though. . . .
Don't forget your popcorn :)
I love Penelope, too. I also love her Gilly character. Good times.
We've had chickens before. Actually we've had roosters and chickens and a guinea hen too. Umm...in the same pen. We got eggs like every day and some were green and blue like Easter eggs. Umm...we had so many we had to give them away like the Easter bunny. Umm...we ate eggs everyday and our protein intake like doubled. Umm...which is twice what everyone else eats so umm...
True story.
I love Penelope. Have you also seen The Secret Word? Kristen Wiig was hilarious in that too.
Oh, and I've never had a chicken, but I don't ever want to.
My condolences.
AWW! She is so cute! We used to have lots of chickens, they make such great pets! feed her and love her and she will follow you around talking and chatting and telling you chicken stories!
